It was so great to see Stella Damasus and Sam Dede back on the screen after a long time! Gone was a nice family drama with a feel-good atmosphere
~Worth Watching~

Delicious
—The opening scenes shot in Nigeria were so nostalgic! Ani’s aunty (Ada Emeh) was so cute, her reaction was just like our relatives’ when they welcome us back home
—The story was well told in a relatable way. Through Gone, we saw the pain of a father trying to reconstruct the broken pieces of the family he once built. From the mother to the kids, all were damaged by the separation and this required a lot of mending to do.
A good combination of quiet and intense paces. The chasing and fighting scenes brought zest 🤓
—Gabriel Afolayalan (playing Ani’s son) should consider opening an acting school because he has mastered the skill. He was so real, irritating, and captivating. A clapping Ovation to Stella Damasus (Ani’s wife), Bimbo Ademoye (Ani’s daughter), and Emma OMG (Ani’s son’s enemy). Their performances were pure; we felt their emotions 🥰
—A nice job on the score which finely blended with the vibe of each scene
—Must felicitate the costume and make-up design teams who vivified each character

Bland
—What could have taken Gone to the extra mile was the cinematography, which, in this case, was not intentional and failed to inspire
—The plot didn’t contain many layers, it was relatively linear. Not much suspense or twists to keep us glued. Moreover, the film, touching on sensitive issues, didn’t possess poignant dialogues
—Minor scenes sustained some audio issues
—Editing was fair; more creative transitions or better quick-cuts could have worked better
