When we first read about the script, we immediately thought it was going to be the old tale of getting married due to pressure.
Buuuttt Seven and a Half Dates brought something new that was greatly appreciated. We laughed and reflected!
~Worth Watching~

Delicious
—The interaction between Bisola (Mercy Johnson) and her assistant Biodun (Toyin Abraham) was insanely good 😀
We laughed so much! Biodun’s intellectual level was out of this world, and to think that she made crazy statements with a serious face, that right there was too funny
—The cast selection was meticulously executed. Every character shone so bright and left a memorable impression. Kudos!
—It was important that the screenplay gave us a contrast between Bisola and her sister Mabel (Bayray McNwizu) to illustrate one who gets married to conform to societal norms and the other who takes time to carefully examine each man.
The dialogues were powerfully crafted; we learned a lot
—Seven and a Half Dates was very intentional to make its points heard: never ever marry by force or pressure, never ever marry to make others happy, and never ever marry due to the biological clock ticking
—What can be said about the costume and make-up designs, simply outstanding 😀

Bland
—The narrator’s voice was quite distracting with cheesy lines
—The game of chess played between Bisola and her dad (Akin Lewis) could have been better developed to make the plot more intriguing.
The fact that all of Bisola’s dates had bad behaviors was too coincidental. There was no suspense as to who she would eventually end up with
—Sola Sobowale (playing Bisola’s mom) CAN scream 😅
—The color grading wasn’t consistent, making some images look pale
