Meow, meow, meow 😺 Don’t even know what to say! A lot of items were placed on our plates that we have no idea where to start from 😀
Meow was an amusing film with good messages and as always, Soubin Shahir never disappoints!
~Worth Watching~

[Spoilers ahead]
Delicious
—The editor must have had fun working on Meow. The sound effects and animation amplified the funny and relaxing aspects of the movie. The CGI cat was nicely done
—Soubin Shahir (playing Dasthaker) was captain of the ship: He guided the story well and welcomed us into his world. We saw his fears, strengths, weaknesses, struggles, insecurities, and desires.
He was comic in every way and serious when it needed to be
—The desert location was a good pick to center on Dasthaker’s life without being too distracted by the Arabian setting
—The storytelling was really entertaining with MANY unique characters gently introduced without confusing us.
We were presented with Dasthaker who was empty on the inside and thought he’d gain confidence by subscribing to religious norms and society’s expectations.
And Dasthaker said it in the most wonderful way: “I’m just an ordinary man with many problems; with every problem I get closer to him [god], now he’s in my heart. So the way I look has nothing to do with my faith, and others don’t have to judge me by it. You live as you wish and let others live as they wish. We just need a little kindness and a little respect for others’ beliefs. That’s it and the world will be a better place
—Dasthaker’s house was a great demonstration of harmony as it peacefully sheltered Muslims, a Hindu driver, and a Christian maid
—So what did the cat symbolize in Meow??? After much debate, we concluded it was a symbol of guidance and the presence of Dasthaker’s wife. Dasthaker’s car collision with a cat led him to re-examine himself and sober up. The cat also directed him to Jameela when he needed a maid.
Every time Dasthaker remembered his wife, the cat was there looking at him AND the cat giving birth to three kittens was also ‘meaningful’

Bland
—As much as we love Soubin Shahir, it was a little repetitive to see him in almost every scene.
Overall, the story seemed to be evolving very slowwwwly
