Overall Rating: Nuts
What an original plot. Funke! was a breath of freshness taking us back in time to experience her story.
The film, sorrowfully, was safely executed without any vigor to glue us to our seats

Delicious
—We have to give it up to a narrative that centers on a young teenager which isn’t frequent. It was brilliant to see a plot focusing on equal gender access to a sport like football. There were encouraging lines delivered to motivate today’s youth to dare to dream no matter what
—Loved the color grading and costume design, nice work!
—Ms. Catherine (Ini Dima-Okojie) was such a graceful and beautiful teacher🥰

Bland
—The title of the movie being Funke, we had high expectations for Miracle Inyanda in terms of her acting and football skills. We wanted to be part of her life and were sincerely waiting for some mad football techniques…However, nothing much happened
—Big celebrities like Eniola Badmus and Frank Donga appeared among the lead actors in the opening credits and additionally on the film poster, yet, they were only seen for a few seconds
—The editing could have been better refined; the sudden cutting of background music and scenes made it quite unappealing. The directing team could have given us more exciting moments as this was a sports movie.
What happened to the complete scene when Funke’s brother was running to meet her? 🙁 🙁
