~Worth Watching~
Delicious
—When you hear the name Genevieve Nnaji, generally, the words elegance and excellence come to mind: That’s Lionheart for you!
—Let’s begin with the color grading which deserves applause. The colorist successfully achieved the intended mood, creating a natural and meaningful appearance
—Lionheart was told in a fluid manner. Adaeze’s (Genevieve Nnaji) personality development was nice and gradual.
She was relatable, representing all the career women that want to achieve something in life, yet still dealing with insecurities and desire for approval.
Dialogues were well crafted, a message was transmitted at every step of the way.
A great blend of comedy and drama spiced up by Uncle (Nkem Owoh) who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind and mess up plans 😆
—Costume design and make-up were refined, accentuating the personality of each character
—Genevieve Nnaji and Nkem Owoh are diamonds when it comes to acting. They didn’t need to say much, their facial and physical expressions did the rest of the talking. Their walk spoke a thousand words, bravo!
Lionheart’s owner (Pete Edochie) and his wife (Onyeka Onwenu) were such a delight to watch. Hamzaaaaa 😍 (a businessman in the story), though making a guest appearance, was graceful and charming in his performance
—The director of photography elevated the visual standard of Lionheart by utilizing great lighting, camera lenses, purposeful camera movements, and angles
—Audio was crisp and clear
Bland
—There were some big celebrities featured that didn’t have significant positions in the story, such as Samuel (Kalu Ikeagu), Arinze (Peter Okoye), board member (Chika Okpala), Adaeze’s brother (Phyno), etc
—It would have made a huge difference to see Genevieve’s wardrobe change as her character was developing in the story
—The screenplay played it safe; we didn’t get to see Adaeze go through intense hardships to save Lionheart.
The writers simply scratched some challenges here and there without going deeper into the reality of actually sustaining a crumbling business
