Kamalam was a moving story that reminded us of the extreme necessity of kindness in these dire times we’re living.
It was a relevant narrative when people nowadays gradually alienate themselves from each other
~Worth Watching~
Delicious
—Kamalam was a slow movie introducing us to the world of Kamala (Dr. Bindu Suresh), a caring daughter, gentle sister, and sympathetic escort. Darul (Jayesh), playing Kamala’s ‘brother’, was so cute and we really felt sorry for him as he struggled to make both ends meet
—The narrative took us back to lockdown times when peoples’ livelihood was threatened with Kamala being highly affected
—Images looked clean and clear; good work on the costume and make-up designs
—The screenplay was nice and simple, very direct. This simplicity was loaded with a strong note on valuing one another as human beings who have needs, fears, desires, and ambitions.
When the world is trying to avoid one another due to an invisible virus, Kamalam directed us to still seek relationships and help one another
Bland
—Kamalam could have benefited from commanding dialogues to send out a strong message
—Acting appeared generally rehearsed as opposed to natural
