~Worth Watching~
Delicious
—So…most of us know Lateef Adedimeji (playing Ayinla) for being a joker in all his movies, but in Ayinla, oh my goodness, he was unrecognizable!
Lateef gave us comedy, romance, anger, music, and seriousness; we were in awe. We’re clapping for you, sir! He indeed owned and deserved to play this role.
Adebowale ‘Mr. Macaroni’ Adedayo (playing Ayinla’s manager) was another surprise; he looked completely different from what we’re used to seeing on his Youtube channel and gave a great rendition
—Nothing to criticize in terms of the old-fashioned art direction; it was a careful execution
—The screenplay really drew us into Ayinla’s world: we got to know about his likes/dislikes, food, songwriting process, interests, ambitions, etc.
Another essential part was the inclusion of different parties such as the reporters, the promoting agency, and his fans/well-wishers which diversified the narrative rather than solely spotlighting Ayinla
—Ayinla cautioned us to be sober and vigilant in life, make wise and informed decisions, as well as know the people we allow within our inner circle
—Great work on showcasing Ayinla’s music work
Bland
—The audio, the audio, the audio was, unfortunately, not refined; it gave off a speaker sound effect that was quite disrupting at times
—The constant fading transition was a bit much to go from scene to scene.
Ayinla, being a musical, could have tremendously benefited from artistic editing and cinematography in order to maintain the flow
