Overall Rating: Beignets
If I Am President was an invigorating experience to see young people desperate to halt corruption and make things different. We learned a lotttt from the dialogues and revelations of ‘politricks’.
The production was a little disappointing, unfortunately, not befitting the high-caliber script
~Worth Watching~

Delicious
—Elvis (Bimbo Manuel) is the guy to watch out for in the movie as he provides great insights on politics and its tactics, e.g. he mentioned the deliberate control of gas prices during election times and pointed out the following “if Nigerians ever riot, it’s only against each other, but never against politicians”.
A fair statement right there…
—Zinachi (Ayoola Ayolola) was a powerful illustration of today’s youth who are fed up with corruption and treachery; they seek to reform the government system to allow transparency, honesty, and progress
—The young girl Muna (playing Zinachi’s daughter) is shooooo cute 😍 Beautiful rendition!
—We wanna thank Bright Obasi for conceiving such a story to push us to examine our role as citizens in corrupt societies: What are we doing to bring change? How can we stand united to bring a revolution? What are the religious leaders doing to transform the community?

Bland
—Very sadly, every aspect of the film’s production was affected: the editing, sound, cinematography, lighting, visual effects, special effects, color grading, etc. There were numerous longggg scenes that could have been cut, e.g. the presidential debate segment
—Zinachi, his wife Michelle (Rahama Sadau), and the rest of the cast didn’t seem to possess the soul of the movie. It appeared as if they just delivered the lines without believing in them
—Hair and make-up designs didn’t accentuate characters well, a bit overdone at times
