Samaria was a HUGE shock! Honestly, we thought it was going to take a common trajectory but were well served and you will be too when you watch it!

Delicious
—The movie started off normally, introducing us to Amara and her mother arguing about leaving or staying in the city. Then gradually, the layers started to peel off, giving us more insight into the story/environment and our interest grew.
Finally, the bomb was dropped! Those ending scenes came as a big shock 😱 leaving us speechless…Unfortunately, Samaria is one of those movies where the more you give details, the more you’ll spoil the suspense, so we’re just gonna stop here
—Amara (Ifeoluwa Eninla) was truly her mother’s daughter as they were both so adamant and unwilling to compromise 😄 On one hand, Amara was bent on staying in the city to continue her studies, and on another hand, her mother wanted to move to the village to cut costs. Great acting!
—We greatly appreciated Samaria’s silence. There was no soundtrack or distracting score, just a subtle mood that moved us to quietly absorb, analyze, and reflect on each scene and character
—The film was very rich in themes: it talked about the value and power education can give to a child, it showed how poor circumstances can lead to grave resolutions, and many other things that we dare not mention to avoid ruining it for you…
—Hats off to the location team who picked ideal spots that emphasized the characters’ humble conditions and scarce resources

—The color grading was regrettably not consistent; there was a blend of gray and bright palettes that failed to set a correct tone for the movie
