If there was ever the goriest movie watched, Saani Kaayidham would be it <<viewers’ discretion strongly advised>>
The extreme graphics made sense given what Ponni endured. Arun Matheswaran was unapologetic about the intense brutality as he was illustrating the agonizing vengeance that goes into the mind of the hurt
~Worth Watching~
Delicious
—Saani Kaayidham is a very RAW movie! No gimmicks, no polishing or fancy dialogues, what you see is what you get.
The cruel introductory scene was thrown in our face, Arun Matheswaran was sending us a message: “This movie you’re about to see is gut-wrenching, if you’re faint-hearted, stop watching now”.
The storytelling presented in parts was captivating and addressing generational curses brought another dimension to the story.
Let’s be sincere, at some point in our lives we have imagined or wished to see our worst enemies be extremely tortured due to the excruciating pain they caused us. So, Saani Kaayidham is a depiction of our wildest thoughts
—The footage, locations, and special effects were as raw as the screenplay. The film crew was unremorsefully showing us details that conventional movies would omit or camouflage for a cleaner picture
—Ponni’s daughter, Dhanam, was incredibly beautiful and natural 😘 we just wanted to hug her; she did well!
Have to admit, when Ponni (Keerthy Suresh) first appeared in the movie, she looked too glamorous for the poor setting she was living in; it was only when we were taken into the past that we understood her plight.
Keerthy Suresh will always be a sweetheart at Nganda Cinema. In Saani Kaayidham, we saw the excessive rage in her eyes, hands, voice, and body. We were rooting for her annnnd also trying to stop her from being too bloody 😱
Bland
—Aside from the vengeance aspect, it would have been more intriguing to see some twists in the narrative as the film was somewhat linear.
Additionally, it was a little odd that there was no police involvement or investigation during Ponni’s outburst
