Two words for Parole: SIMPLY SPLENDID!! We watched Parole without expectations as a lot of Tamil releases have been disappointing lately. Parole changed the course of things, it was sooooo good
An atypical tale coupled with creative storytelling. All we want to do is shake Dwarakh Raja’s hand for coming up with such a mind-blowing script
~Worth Watching~
Delicious
—First thing you notice with Parole is the engaging storytelling divided into chapter illustrations that give a snapshot of the events to come. We were introduced to Kovalan through Karikalan’s perspective and vice versa.
The back-and-forth between present and past was executed in a such fluent way that helped us better understand each scene. Should we say more?🤔Let’s not turn this review into a book😄
—Parole went beyond the sibling rivalry and opened us to the unique world of Kovalan (R. S. Karthik) and Karikalan (Linga) whose behaviors and outlook on life stemmed from underlying problems caused by a lack of father figure, acceptance, and moral support in addition to abuse
—Parole is a manly movie with unapologetic violence, down-to-earth dialogues, ANNND one thing Dwarakh Raja did which we just realized as we’re typing this review: the lead actors weren’t smoking or drinking, a pleasant deviation from the norm
—Acting was effortless among major cast members: we’re clapping for R.S. Karthik, Linga, Mak Mani (playing Subash), Vinodhini Vaidyanathan (playing an advocate), Shivam (playing Karikalan’s friend), etc.
—We usually don’t pay attention to the score but it’s very hard not to in Parole as the voices were dominant and fueled the rage and passion of the story, bravo!
—SO many more great things to talk about, however, length does not permit.
We just wanna appreciate the lessons learned especially the emphasis on ‘not’ acting in haste which can lead to severe repercussions, plus giving up rage and hatred to foster a humane attitude
Bland
—The female leads were not memorable; unfortunately. Kalpika Ganesh (playing Karikalan’s girlfriend) and Monisha Murali (playing Kovalan’s girlfriend) were just there, not adding any vitality to their lines when they could have wowed us
