Such a sweet and short movie it was! Independent State of Nandi (ISN) was straight to the point, very easy to understand, and relatable.
Maybe would have needed a bit more content to make the story weightier, but that’s just a personal preference
~Worth Watching~
Delicious
—We immediately connected with Nandi (Lebo Borole) right from the start: she was feisty, edgy, fun, down-to-earth, and accommodating.
Nandi was the girl always available to help, she dealt with some insecurities, and put a lot of accent on family culture which created frictions with her boyfriend Sechaba (Marcus Mabusela)
—There was nothing to criticize about the production: lighting✅ cinematography✅ sound design✅ editing✅ direction✅ costume & makeup✅
—The chemistry between Nandi, Sechaba, and the people they encountered on the road trip was so beautiful and natural. It’s like we were among them living their different experiences
—You’ll find ISN to be a relatable story highlighting generosity, hospitality, forgiveness, & decency, and upholding cultural norms
Bland
—ISN was such an enjoyable ride that we just wished it could have been a little longer to give us more insight into Nandi’s family and her sister’s wedding. But we can’t complain we had a 16-minute blast 😉
