If you’ve seen Sarkar then Bheeshma Parvam is the Malayalam version with a larger and more profound script. Quite frankly, we weren’t expecting anything after watching the trailer, but the director blew us away😃 If we can make a quick comparison, Michael (Mammooty) is much more approachable and affectionate than Subhash Nagre in Sarkar, plus the women in Bheeshma Parvam are incited to rise and be strong.

The narrative followed a big family dealing with many issues relating to inheritance, property misappropriation, and inter-faith marriage. To some members, Michael was the glue that held the family together, to others, a smell of death. Though there was a large cast, Amal Neerad, the director, made sure to progressively introduce each character without losing us, and the sequence of events made sense and kept us hooked. What was unique about the movie was that Amal properly guided this ensemble cast to tell a story that touched many values empowered by an impeccable production👏

Please, please, please, can we please have the honor of shaking the cinematographer’s hand?😁 There’re no words to describe his exceptional use of the camera, Anend was having fun giving us versatile angles, enhancing the story with the visuals, it was P.H.E.N.O.M.E.N.A.L.

There is soooo much to say about Bheeshma Parvam but we don’t want this review to turn into a book. Just want to acknowledge the make-up team that did such an outstanding job in giving the actors an 80s look, nice work on Dileesh Pothan(playing James, Michael’s brother-in-law). A big THANK YOU to the colorists, the sublime cast, location crew, screenwriters, etc.

A very very teeny weeny issue was the fact that towards the end, the events seemed too perfect with Michael succeeding in every attack without resistance. Other than that, this film deserves applause!
