The best movies are the ones you watch without expectations 😀 Because that’s exactly what happened with Aan Devathai!
We thought it was going to be the habitual family story but noooo, what we got was above and beyond
~Worth Watching~

Delicious
We’re gonna try not to have too many ‘delicious’ points as there’re lots of good things to say about Aan Devathai; let’s not turn this review into a long list 🙂
—The film provided us with a great illustration of the nuclear family trapped in a fast-paced environment. Elango (Samuthirakani) and Jessy (Ramya Pandian) were overworking themselves and chasing dreams while struggling to raise their children.
What made Aan Devathai unique was the way the screenwriter conceived the character Elango. He was unlike any husband or father we’ve ever seen in Tamil cinema. He was a sensible and responsible man, meek and lowly, gentle and respectful with his wife and children, and didn’t display any macho characteristics.
But he wasn’t weak either, he kept his strength under control. We really really really admired that
—Aan Devathai was no fairy-tale story. We saw hardships, humiliation, temptation, and pride. We were educated at every level thanks to the strong dialogues. The screenplay wasn’t about putting guilt on the wife or husband as they couldn’t compromise, it rather pointed out the areas that needed correction
—Acting was effortless between Elango and his daughter (Monica) 🥰
—Location team selected great places to show us the family’s transition from humble beginnings to wealth
—Vijay Milton did a good job featuring diverse camera angles to influence our moods
—The narrative had fluent transitions between the past and present scenes. Seeing Elango move from one area to another with his daughter to find shelter made the story look real. We felt for him…
The movie spotlighted many themes such as kindness (do unto others what you’d want others to do unto you), dignity (do everything with a clear and good conscience without being embarrassed), and contentment (never ever live above your means or chase wealth to the detriment of your family)

Bland
—Dubbing suffered a bit and Ramya Pandian rendered an okay performance
